Introduction: A Divine Wake-Up Call
In an age where darkness seems to dominate the headlines — wars, corruption, moral decay, and spiritual apathy — God is calling His children to ARISE. Not to blend in. Not to cower. Not to retreat. But to rise and radiate His light in a world desperate for hope.
At Celestial Church of Christ – Harton Street Parish, UK & NI National Headquarters, we believe this call is more urgent than ever. We are not just believers, we are light-bearers, ambassadors of heaven on a mission to shine boldly.
1️⃣ What Does It Mean to “Arise and Shine”?
To arise is to:
- Stand up spiritually from slumber, compromise, or discouragement.
- Take your position in God’s kingdom agenda.
- Refuse to be passive in a world crying out for truth and light.
To shine is to:
- Radiate God’s glory, love, and character wherever you go.
- Let your life become a living testimony that draws others to Christ.
- Be a solution in places of confusion and chaos.
When God says “Arise and Shine,” He’s saying, “Step into your divine purpose with boldness!”
2️⃣ The Relevance of Isaiah 60 in Today’s World
Isaiah 60:2 continues:
“For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and His glory shall be seen upon thee.”
This is not a metaphor. We live in a time of deep darkness — spiritual blindness, hatred, greed, broken families, lost identity. But amid this darkness, God wants His Church to shine like a city on a hill (Matthew 5:14).
You are not on earth by accident. You were born for such a time as this (Esther 4:14).
3️⃣ You Are a Carrier of His Glory
At your baptism and spiritual rebirth, God infused you with divine DNA — His Spirit, His gifts, His light. You carry:
- The mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16)
- The power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8)
- The assignment to impact nations (Isaiah 60:3)
“Kings shall come to the brightness of thy rising.” (Isaiah 60:3) — meaning, your life will attract influence, transformation, and kingdom expansion.
But this light is not for decoration. It’s for illumination. For direction. For impact.
4️⃣ Barriers That Try to Dim Your Light
The enemy knows your light is powerful, so he uses strategies to dim it:
- Fear: Makes you hide your gifts and shy away from purpose.
- Sin & compromise: Break your fellowship with God and cloud your vision.
- Comparison: Makes you doubt your uniqueness.
- Busyness: Distracts you from intimacy with God.
God is calling you to refocus, realign, and rekindle your flame. Arise, daughter. Shine, son. The world is waiting.
5️⃣ Practical Ways to Shine in Today’s World
Here’s how to respond to the call to “Arise and Shine”:
a. Intimacy with God
- Spend time in prayer, fasting, and the Word.
- Let His presence fuel your passion.
b. Use Your Gifts
- Whether you sing, write, teach, encourage, or serve — use it for God’s glory.
- Every gift matters in His kingdom.
c. Live Differently
- Let your character reflect Christ — integrity, compassion, humility.
- Be a peacemaker and problem-solver wherever you go.
d. Impact Your Community
- Volunteer, evangelize, mentor, start a godly initiative.
- Don’t just attend church — be the church outside the walls.
6️⃣ A Message for the Church
At CCC Harton Street Parish, our mission is to equip believers to walk in power, purity, and purpose. This is not the time to remain silent, stagnant, or spiritually asleep.
We are raising a generation who will:
- Arise with boldness
